Presidential Candidate Rick Perry Attacks a Corn Dog (Photo)

GOP Presidential candidate and current Texas governor Rick Perry went with an unusual approach in attacking a monster corn dog while campaigning in Iowa.

We’ve heard Michelle Bachmann can do it better! But the jury is still out on Perry’s approach.

The goofy grin on the dude behind Bachmann in the photo is priceless.

And we have a late entry into the Presidential candidate corn dog eating contest…former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

It looks like Romney is the winner. He looks, by far, the most presidential while downing a hot dog on a stick.

God bless the U.S.A. corn dog!

Mam Barbara Boxer Demands General Call Her Senator (Video)

Madam Barbara Boxer in her rudest fashion requested Brigadier General Michael Walsh call her Senator after he was answering her with ‘Yes Mam’ and ‘No Mam.’

“Do me a favor…could you call me senator instead of mam. It’s just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title. So I’d appreciate it. Yes, thank you!”

The gall of Barbara Boxer to call out a Brigadier General that was being respectful to her. I have a feeling the General worked harder to get his title than Boxer lied to get hers.

Hopefully, California voters can give her the title of ex-Senator.

Kirsten Gillibrand Named to Replace Hillary Clinton as Senator

New York governor David Paterson will name House Representative Kirsten Gillibrand to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate according to published reports.

Gillibrand, elected in 2006, represents the state’s 20th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is the first Democrat to represent the district since 1978 — and the first female representative of the district.

The pick has riled up many Democrats in New York because of her positions on gun rights and the TARP bailout.

But some New York City Democrats are skeptical of Gillibrand, who voted against the financial rescue package last fall. And the National Rifle Association has endorsed Gillibrand — another cause for concern among some Democrats.

Probably the smartest and safest pick Paterson could make. Gillibrand has experience, unlike Caroline Kennedy, and a proven track record as well.

Paterson will formally announce the pick sometime on Friday.

Caroline Kennedy Won’t Be Selected for Senate Seat

Caroline Kennedy, in an effort to save face, has removed her name from the running to be named by New York governor David Paterson to fill the empty Senate seat.  The insider word among many was that Caroline would not be selected for the position.

Sources said the reason Paterson had decided not to tap the daughter of John F. Kennedy was her poor performances in media interviews and in in private sessions with various officials.

Many believe the leading candidate to take Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat is New York state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

George H.W. Bush Monument Vandalized in Houston

A statute of former President George H.W. Bush was vandalized with spray paint on Tuesday in Houston.

Shortly before 2pm, Houston police got a call of criminal mischief in progress at the George Bush monument on Bagby at Preston in downtown Houston. Witnesses say a man who appeared to be homeless was using paint to vandalize the monument.

The police might be able to catch the vandal if they can find a homeless man covered in yellow paint.

The man was described as having long blond hair, possibly in a ponytail, and wearing a plaid shirt. He may still have some yellow paint on him.

Reminds me of a fraternity brother in college who got busted for painting the cannon of another fraternity because he came back to the frat house drunk and covered in gold paint.

Juan Williams Deeply Moved by Obama Inauguration

Fox News commentator Juan Williams was emotionally moved and choked up yesterday on air while describing the benediction prayer given by Civil Rights leader Rev. Joe Lowery at the end of President Obama’s Inauguration.

His voice breaking with emotion, he went on: “There are other people who might say they were there with Dr. King and suffered the indignities. But Joe Lowery really did. And for Joe Lowery today to see that son, that black boy, become president of the United States, I can’t tell you. There are some times in your life when you just think, ‘What a country! How could it be?’ I never thought that would happen. But there it was. Just thank God that Joe Lowery was there in that moment to talk about the power of silent tears.”

Rivals: Caroline Kennedy Picked for NY Senate Seat

Caroline Kennedy will be the next Senator from New York according to her rivals for the spot.  Other in contention for the spot believe New York governor David Paterson has already decided upon Kennedy and is just playing it out in the press, at this point, for proprieties sake.

The contenders based their conclusion on the view that Paterson, after nearly two months of indecision, would “greatly embarrass” and “entirely humiliate” Kennedy, anger her prominent political family and even offend President-elect Barack Obama by picking someone other than President John F. Kennedy’s daughter.

As for the governor’s claim to be weighing a last-minute finalist, the contenders agree with a close Paterson friend who said, “It’s clear David is just trying to play mind games with the press.”

If money can’t but you a Senate seat then being famous and having a famous last name will do the trick in New York.  Patterson has still publically yet to decide on who he will tab to replace Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Senate.
