Sen. Barack Obama Banks $32 Million In January

Barack

Barack Obama had a personal best month raking in $32 million in donations for January alone.

Barack Obama raised $32 million in January alone and attracted 170,000 new donors, campaign manager David Plouffe said in a conference call with reporters Thursday morning.

The haul was the most money the campaign has raised in a single month and matched the Illinois senator’s best three-month period last year, aides said.

The windfall positions the presidential candidate to shell out for the Feb. 5 Super Tuesday primaries, when 22 states will hold Democratic contests.

Plouffe said the Obama campaign plans to go on TV and radio airwaves soon in states voting after Feb. 5, including Louisiana, Nebraska, Washington, Indiana and Virginia.

Letter To Barack Obama

This is just to scandalous, not to share.

In an open letter to Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, on the conservative website WorldNetDaily, self-described Clinton victim Kathleen Willey warns him to no be naïve….to watch out …and to get a shredder…among other advice.

Among the unusual warnings she issues, she tells Obama to beware of “the Clintons’ secret private-investigator army, which no doubt has already been deployed to counter the threat that you present. I know that army’s tactics well. They have threatened my children and my friend’s children. They’ve threatened and killed my pets. They’ve vandalized my car. They’ve entered my home and stolen my book manuscript.”

Bill Clinton Says Lets Slow Down The Economy

Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton hit a stroke of genius when he was stumping for his wife in Denver, Colorado.  The stroke of genius is that we need to slow down the economy in order to lower green house gases to save the world, and supposedly other countries would follow suit(e).  Clinton also stated that we all know global warming is real.  Is this because Al Gore discovered/created it just like he did the internet? It was quite foolish of Clinton to make some remark like this, when we are hitting our stride running into a recession.  While people are worried about keeping a home, putting food on their table, and keeping their family warm in the middle of winter.  He may have had his heart in the right place, but it might have been at the wrong time.

Obama Says Clinton Would Take Us Back

Barack Obama said at a speech in Denver, that Republicans could not bring up the past if he was the nominee.

DENVER - Democratic Sen. Barack Obama said Wednesday a Hillary Rodham Clinton presidency would be a step back to the past, turning her husband’s image of a bridge to the future against her. The former first lady decried the tenor of his comments in an interview with The Associated Press.”I know it is tempting - after another presidency by a man named George Bush - to simply turn back the clock, and to build a bridge back to the 20th century,” the Illinois senator said in Denver.

“… It’s not enough to say you’ll be ready from Day One - you have to be right from Day One,” he added in unmistakable criticisms of Clinton, who often claims she’s better prepared to govern, and her husband, who pledged during his own presidency to build a bridge to the 21st century.

Within hours, Hillary Clinton pushed back in an interview with the AP - and got in her own dig.

“That certainly sounds audacious, but not hopeful,” said Clinton, in a play on the title of Obama’s book, “The Audacity of Hope.” “It’s not hopeful and it’s not what we should be talking about in this campaign,” said Clinton, suggesting Obama was abandoning the core of his campaign.

Detroit Mayor Truly Sorry For Scandal, Might Face Perjury Charges

Kwame Kilpatrick

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is in hot water for text messages, amongst other things.

DETROIT — As Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick returns to City Hall after publicly apologizing to his wife, children and Detroit residents for events surfacing from a text messaging sex scandal, a criminal investigation into whether or not he and his top aide lied under oath during a whistle-blower’s lawsuit still hangs over his head.

Kilpatrick ended his 10-minute speech Wednesday night from the family’s church with: “I’ll see you at work tomorrow.”

Thursday was to be his first day in the office following a week of self-imposed seclusion, which he says included focusing on his family.

In Wednesday’s emotional but carefully worded televised speech, Kilpatrick avoided direct mention of racy text messages that appear to contradict his sworn denials of an affair with Chief of Staff Christine Beatty.

“I truly apologize to you,” Kilpatrick said, turning to his wife, who sat by his side, holding his hand, at Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ.

“I am the mayor. I made the mistake,” Kilpatrick told Detroit residents, looking into the camera. “I am accountable.”

He did not publicly specify what he was apologizing for, saying legal matters prevented him from doing so. While he promised to continue leading the city, he still must face the possibility of perjury or other charges.

Reagan Library Debate or The Romney and McCain Show

They might as well have called this debate the McCain/Romney Show. It is hard to tell any of questions with McCain and Romney bickering so much. Anderson Cooper, who is normally is a good reporter, had no ability to control McCain or Romney. Total time that Huckabee and Paul got to talk was maybe 12 minutes total. We did learn that Mitt Romney has the ability to be extremely long winded without saying much. John McCain seemed to be out of it, and it was obvious that he hates Mitt(en) Romney.

Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul both did well with what time they got. Huckabee came to his own and Ron Paul’s defense at one point saying that he didn’t go to the debate to watch McCain and Romney to take swings at each other, but that he wanted a chance to take a few swings at some questions himself, and for the moderators to pay some attention to the two guys at the end of the table( meaning himself and Ron Paul). Overall, there can’t be a proclamation of a winner of the debate, because it was more like an arguing match between McCain and Romney. Huckabee and Paul definitely made more of their limited time than Romney or McCain.

Carter also commented on the recent criticism surrounding Bill Clinton, following that former president’s comments on the campaign trail that some have viewed as racially divisive. Carter said Clinton personally called him to explain the remarks.

“He doesn’t call me often, but the fact that he called me this morning and spent a long time explaining his position indicates that it’s troublesome to them, the adverse reaction,” he said.

“I told him I hoped it would die down. — the charged atmosphere concerning the race issue,” Carter continued. “And I think it will.”

The Governator
Republican Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger is talking with the McCain camp about a possible endorsement of John McCain for President.  The Governator is a high profile Republican, if not for any other reason his colorful diction. His endorsement would definitely give McCain another big boost that would go along with the Florida Primary and help in McCain’s quest for the Republican nomination.
