McGovern Calls For Impeachment of Bush and Cheney
Quirky Former Democartic Sen. George McGovern (South Dakota) wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post, calling for impeachment of President George Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney. In the article he claimed that the atrocities committed by Bush/Cheney were far worse than those of the man that he ran against for the presidency in 1972 President Nixon. He sited that they have disregarded the constitution and lied the the public amongst other reasons. McGovern isn’t the only one that had this idea. Current Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich put forth resolution H.R. 333 which called for the impeachment process to be started against Dick Cheney. Speaker of the House Nancy Nancy Pelosi (California) stated that calling for impeachment is off the table, as it could lead to distractions or unwanted results in the upcoming election.
