Carmen Kontur-Gronquist

Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist has been fired from her job as Mayor Arlingoton, Oregon for the Racy Photos that made headlines earlier in the year. The photos were put up on a myspace site for Kontur-Gonquist by a family member in hopes that she would be able to meet people on myspace and maybe even find someone to date. The photos were said to have been taken for a fitness contest that she had entered before becoming Mayor of Arlington.

Arlington voted on Kontur-Gronquist keeping the job of Mayor or not on Monday. The votes came down 142- 139 to remove her. This certainly isn’t the most scandalous thing ever to get someone in office in trouble.

    Oh please, get a life people! What she is wearing was much, much less revealing than a bathing suit. This very acceptable photo was posted in order to help her meet new people in order to improve her social life, and she loses her job over this??? I am in complete disbelief. Additionally, the way Ms. Kontur has handled this (with a lot of class) should make everyone in that little town who has a problem with Ms. Kontur and / or these harmless photos feel very embarassed.

    As a side note, Ms. Kontur, if I lived anywhere near Oregon I wouldn’t hesitate to ask you out on a date. You are obviously intelligent, open-minded, respectful, concerned about your community; volunteering for the position of Mayor says an awful lot about you. You strike me as a wonderful person, keep your chin up!

    Give me a break!

    The only pic I saw was in good taste, attractive and classy.

    Wadda bunch of prune-danishes… 3 votes doesn’t seem like a resounding recall movement.

    My suggestion… run again w/ the campaign slogan: Nothing to Hide
