Class President Suspended for Going to Barack Rally
Student class president Colin Saltry resigns position after getting suspended for going to hear Presidential candidate Barack Obama speak at rally in Pennsylvania.
But the president, in this case, is an 18-year-old Pennsylvania high school student who claims he was forced to resign as head of his senior class because he skipped gym and left school to see Democratic presidential would-be Barack Obama.
Colin Saltry, a Scranton High School senior, and fellow classmate Joey Daniel reportedly bolted school on Monday to catch a glimpse of the Illinois senator during a campaign stop at “The Glider” restaurant, just minutes away from their school.
Saltry and Daniel say they met Obama, snapped photos with him, and even had the candidate sign excuse slips to present to their teachers.
I can understand the suspension because their skipping school violated the rules. If the principal asked Saltry to resign as class president then that is over the line and too much. He should be given his position back. If Saltry resigned on his own then that’s on him.

Got something to say?

I agree that Saltry should be given his position back. If the principal asked him to resign that is excessive. I wonder would the principal have been as harsh had Saltry left to see Hillary or McCain?
