Right Pundits is reporting that there is reportedly a tape of Michelle Obama throwing around the racial term “whitey” that is likely to surface in the next few days.
Well, I debated whether to even post this or not. I’m not usually into rumor or innuendo, but what the hell, lets have some fun. Larry Johnson over at No Quarter has apparently learned (he has 4 sources on this) that a video tape exists of Michelle Obama railing against whitey at Rev. Wright’s church. The Barack Obama magical touch seems to get more and more diminished the more that is discovered about him and his bitter wife.

I think this tape and many others exist, Hillary knows it and this is why she continues in the race. Republicans have had it for a while. They have been playing it at fundraisers, and that is why Barack Obama’s bundlers have been asking him about this tape. He has stonewalled them so far, which tells me all I need to know. I’ve heard one of the networks has it, but the Republicans wanted to save it for October. The tape exists. It was uncovered a while ago by a very well funded political campaign. Notice that Fox & CNN retracted AP reports that Clinton was conceding tonight. My guess is, her campaign has learned that the tapes are in fact legitimate. This will be a political deathblow to Obama. The only solution - Obama acknowledges and accepts the Dem nomination only to pass the torch to Hillary acknowledging his mistakes.

BIG difference. They could probably use the New Orleans line, if that was the only one ever played, and pretty effectively, as it seems to echo remarks made by Kanye West and others, but they know that this will be seen as a cruel manipulation by anyone other than the ignorant racists that would never vote for Obama anyway, if the full context of the statements is made public. And that would do much more harm than good, as most people are sick of dirty political tricks. I think right now, they are hoping the buzz about the possibility of these statements will be enough. If there was a true “whitey” tape that multiple news outlets already had access to, it would already be all over YouTube and everything else. Especially since people have offered millions of dollars for a copy. Much ado about nothing.

Rush Limbaugh brought this up about a month ago. The rumor was that it was uncovered by a Republican candidate’s opposition research group. Personally, I’ll believe it when I see it, but Bob Beckel (democratic strategist and former Dem campaign manager) indicated on Fox News today that he was concerned about it because of the nature of the sources he was hearing it from.
If it does exist and lives up to the rumor, Obama is toast. African Americans and the far left will still stand with him, but everyone else will either jump ship or stay home in November.
In a larger sense, if the Dems lose this election, this will go down as the biggest political choke job in American History. They’ll be noted as the party who nominated a person who couldn’t win in a year where the Democratic party couldn’t lose. The economy is slow, the war is unpopular, Bush is not only disliked but genuinely hated by many people, gasoline is off the chart, the deficits are huge, etc. I say this as a guy who likes Bush but think he spends like a drunken democrat and makes really stupid personnel decisions. I also like McCain, but as much as he is different than W and disagrees with the Republican’s on numerous issues, he’ll still have to carry the baggage that Bush leaves behind.
Anyway, I hope the video tape exists because it will make for wonderful political theater and keep us going for years to come.

I too believe that the tape would be out there if there really is one. This is an “urban legend”, meaning, it has the ring of truth but probably isn’t true. Michelle and Barak only have themselves blame that people are tempted to belive it.
I think there may be some truth to this. If it were totally fabricated, why wouldn’t they say it was Barack saying it? Instead, they pin it on Michelle. Because it’s more believable that she would say that? That’s the only reason I can think of.

The real worry should be the makeup of an Obama cabinet if he does get elected. Barack is fond of saying that “John McCain would be like having a third Bush term”. Well, isn’t that vastly better than having a second Jimmy Carter term? In reality, Barack will be far worse than Jimmy Carter . . . at least we knew what we were getting with Jimmy Carter.

First of all, people are acting like Obama just stepped onto the scene. If a tape like that existed, the Republicans would have released this back when Obama addressed the Democratic Convention. It would have been brought up back when he was running for his Senate office. This man’s been on the Bestseller list, been on Oprah. If there was a tape like that, people would have been like, “the audacity of hope huh…well I guess it doesn’t apply to wh*tey!” or some other snarky remark. It’s not just the Republicans, but ANY media outlet that caught wind of this, especially in the early stages of the Primaries. The media is all over anything crazy, people who don’t think this would have already made news are surprisingly not giving enough credit to the media.

If its an audio only tape it falls under suspect of being a production. If its real, should what is said on Sunday morning during the most segregated hours of America be that surprising?
