Palin’s Email Hacked by Dem. State Rep’s Son

David Kernell, the 20-year old son of Democratic Tennessee State Representative Mike Kernell, is being fingered as the culprit in hacking Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s Yahoo! email account.
Also Wednesday, a person using the e-mail address rubico10@yahoo.com posted to an online forum about how he used Yahoo! Mail’s password-recovery tool to obtain Palin’s password.
“i am the lurker who did it, and i would like to tell the story,” rubico10@yahoo.com wrote on the website 4chan.
The hacker later explained how he reviewed Palin’s e-mails one by one: “I read though the emails… ALL OF THEM… before I posted, and what I concluded was anticlimactic, there was nothing there, nothing incriminating, nothing that would derail her campaign as I had hoped, all I saw was personal stuff, some clerical stuff from when she was governor…. And pictures of her family.”
The MSM is continuing to not report this story in much detail if at all. When it has been mentioned it has been left out that David’s father is a democratic State Representative.
I won’t say I believe he was instructed by his father or those in the Democrat party to do so. He likely is a computer geek, or maybe just stupid, and didn’t think he would get into her email. When he did it seems he did panic and was an IDIOT for posting and bragging about it online and in forums.

Joe Biden, Democrat nominee for Vice President, said today in essence that perhaps Barack Obama should have selected Hillary Clinton as his running mate instead of himself according to ABC News.
“Make no mistake about this,” Biden responded. “Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate, so let’s get that straight.”
Perhaps Joe really feels that way or maybe he was just being polite and giving longtime friend Hillary Clinton some much needed respect.

John McCain’s team was quit to respond to Barack Obama’s statement of Sarah Palin being a pig with an ad calling him a sexist. In the ad they use Palin’s hockey mom/pitbull joke from the RNC and follow it with Obama’s, “You can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig,” comment he made at a campaign rally yesterday. The video concludes with Katie Couric talking about how sexism is alive and well in this campaign.

MSNBC, after finishing dead last in convention coverage, has demoted Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann as news anchors for the upcoming Presidential debates.
The move, confirmed by spokesmen for both networks, follows increasingly loud complaints about Olbermann’s anchor role at the Democratic and Republican conventions. Olbermann, who regularly assails President Bush and GOP nominee John McCain on his “Countdown” program, was effusive in praising the acceptance speech of Democratic nominee Barack Obama. He drew flak Thursday when the Republicans played a video that included a tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks, saying that if the networks had done that, “we would be rightly eviscerated at all quarters, perhaps by the Republican Party itself, for exploiting the memories of the dead, and perhaps even for trying to evoke that pain again. If you reacted to that videotape the way I did, I apologize.”
Matthews, who has criticized politicians in both parties, drew less criticism for his convention role but became a divisive figure during the primaries when he described how he was inspired by Obama’s speeches and made disparaging remarks about Hillary Clinton, for which he later apologized.
David Gregory will take over the news anchor position for MSNBC during the debates.
Matthews and Olbermann will still serve ad political analysts during the debate season.
Count up another victory for O’Reilly over Olbermann. O’Reilly for weeks had been calling NBC on the carpet for their biased political coverage from Olbermann and Matthews.

Live blogging of John McCain’s acceptance speech of the Republican nomination for the Presidency of the United States of America. John was introduced by his wife Cindy McCain at the Republican National Convention from St. Paul, Minnesota.
10:08pm - The speech was about an hour long. It was extremely strong and as good a speech as I have heard McCain over the past 8 years. He had several very personal moments in it and like Reagan breathed a breath of fresh air into what our country is and where it should go. The biggest thing that will be remembered is that his country saved him and that he will give ever last breath working for and defending her. McCain, as a speaker, doesn’t hit grand slams like Palin did last night. He is more like Pete Rose was as a baseball player. He is tough, gritty, and hits double after double all the while trying to turn it into a triple. Sometimes he is thrown out by 10 feet, but often John end up standing on third with that toothy grin while dusting the dirt off his pants.
The loudspeakers are blaring “Barracuda” by Heart. Palin fever continues
10:04pm - “Fight with me, fight with me, fight for what is right for our country!”
The crowd is totally in a frenzy. McCain just did something BO couldn’t do last week. He got the crowd so riled up then was smart enough to end on that night. Great Speech!
10:03pm - Are there more African-Americans at this convention than last week in Denver? Just something I am starting to notice. Has Obama out-elited most of them? Maybe Jesse was right!
10:00pm - There are lots of U.S. veterans in the crowd. Many are touched by McCain’s words.
9:57pm - McCain has gone into a detailed and new leaf of his being shot down and captured story.
9:56pm - “Instead of trying to take credit for something, let’s share it. My administration will set a new standard for transparency and accountability.”
9:55pm - “I have that record and the scars to prove it. Senator Obama does not!”
9:52pm - McCain is really connecting, “I hate war,” and states he will use all his expertise to avoid it. He wants other families to avoid what his has faced. The most raw and powerful moment I have felt from a politician in 20 some odd years.
9:51pm - “I know how the military works….I know how the world works.”
9:50pm - “We can’t turn a blind eye to aggression and international lawlessness.”
9:49pm - About time to wrap it up. Surely it is past McCain’s bedtime.
9:47pm - And the energy portion of the speech ensues. More nuclear power plants, clean coal, drilling, wind, hybrid, electric. You name it and McCain mentioned it as part of his energy plan.
9:45pm - “I want schools to answer to parents and students.” JM is spending a lot of time going on about education and ways he wants to improve it.
9:43pm - “Education is the civil rights issue of this century.”
Competition, power and choice for parents in choosing education for their kids.
9:42pm - Mac is going into detail about several things his administration will do to help improve the economy and health care.
9:40pm - JM gets in a few jabs at Obama but only refers to him as “opponent” and basically just states their differences. He has been classy so far in regard to Senator Obama.
9:39pm “I will keep taxes low and cut them where I can.”
9:37pm - ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
9:36pm - “The party is going to get back to basics.”
9:34pm - So far McCain’s speech has been a lot more positive than Barack’s from a week ago. Of course that could turn here in the second half.
9:33pm - “I’d rather lose an election than see my country lose a war,” in response to pundits who rode him for backing the surge in Iraq.
9:32pm - “I fought for more troops in Iraq when it wasn’t the popular thing to do.”
9:29pm - Promises change coming to Washington and that he and Palin will shake it up like never seen before. Solid speech so far. Not any big fireworks but that’s McCain for you. Slow and steady!
9:27pm - “I can’t wait to introduce her to Washington.”
9:25pm - He mentions Sarah Palin as his running mate and the masses are going nuts. Only a blind squirrel could argue that she hasn’t charged up the base and is becoming a rising star.
9:23pm - States clearly that he will reach out to everyone once he is elected to rebuild this country. A protestor tries to charge the stage but is stopped well short of it. McCain gets in a couple of off the cuff jokes from it.
9:21pm - He gives some very polite words to Barack and says a lot more unites us than divides us and that as Americans that association means more to him than any other.
9:17pm - He doesn’t shy away from President Bush and thanks him for leading us out of 9/11 and keeps us safe from an attack since then. He also thanks Laura Bush for being so gracious. That will likely be the last time he mentions W tonight.
9:16pm - The applause dies down and Senator McCain accepts the nomination for President of the United States.
9:12pm - Fred Thompson introduces McCain out of the dark and onto the stage. The stage is altered from last night and he has the crowd all around him. He appears truly as one of the people.
9:04pm - And here is the well edited McCain campaign video. Roberta McCain (John’s 145 (96) year old mom) looks mighty good for being so old in the tooth.
9:02pm - Everyone in the arena is dancing around to Kool and the Gang and Johnnie B. Good. McCain obviously had a part in selecting tonight’s music. I am still cracking up at Obama having a Brooks & Dunn song to play as his fireworks went off last week in Denver.
8:57pm CST - Cindy is finally done after rambling on and on and on for way too long. She did tone down her dress tonight which is a huge first step. Now time for the campaign video on John McCain.

Text of Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s speech from the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Wednesday night from St. Paul, Minnesota.
Mr. Chairman, delegates, and fellow citizens: I am honored to be considered for the nomination for Vice President of the United States…
I accept the call to help our nominee for president to serve and defend America.
I accept the challenge of a tough fight in this election… against confident opponents … at a crucial hour for our country.
And I accept the privilege of serving with a man who has come through much harder missions … and met far graver challenges … and knows how tough fights are won - the next president of the United States, John S. McCain.
It was just a year ago when all the experts in Washington counted out our nominee because he refused to hedge his commitment to the security of the country he loves.
With their usual certitude, they told us that all was lost - there was no hope for this candidate who said that he would rather lose an election than see his country lose a war.
But the pollsters and pundits overlooked just one thing when they wrote him off.
They overlooked the caliber of the man himself - the determination, resolve, and sheer guts of Senator John McCain. The voters knew better.
And maybe that’s because they realize there is a time for politics and a time for leadership … a time to campaign and a time to put our country first. Read more

LIVE TONIGHT: I will be blogging Sarah Palin’s national speech from the Republican National Convention here in just minutes. (Refresh for Updates!)
10:12pm - That was a pro at work tonight. She knew when to be funny and when to be serious and get her point across. Now the entire family is on stage: Todd, the five kids, and Bristol’s baby daddy Levi Johnston. After a couple of minutes “Old Man” McCain wobbles onstage to join the Palin army.
The youngest Palin daughter is so cute she just might get kidnapped tonight. Great looking family. The hockey playing boyfriend is a stud too! Look for him to be D.C.’s version of Kevin Federline.
Overall Grade: A+
McCain unfortunately has to follow this speech tomorrow night!
10:11pm - “Thank you and God Bless America.” Sarah was paying attention to my cues.
10:10pm - Sarah has about hit all the points she needs to. About time to wrap it up and end a masterpiece.
10:07pm - Too many one liners for me to keep up with. If you aren’t able to see this live try to catch it on a replay later.
10:05pm - She just busted Harry Reid’s chops so hard about he said he can’t stand John McCain and says what he meant to say is, “He can’t stand up to John McCain.”
10:04pm - “A leader that is not looking for a fight but sure isn’t afraid of one!”
10:03pm - This woman is coming across a lot more seasoned than her resume states.
10:01pm - Lots of great one liners and zingers. She just got in a good one in on Barack’s self designed Presidential seal.
10:00pm - “There are some candidates that use change to promote their careers and then there are those like John McCain who use their careers to promote change.”
9:59pm - “Victory in Iraq is in site and he wants to forfeit.”
9:57pm - “What is exactly our opponent’s plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish after he is done turning back the waters and healing the planet?” THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE
9:55pm - Riles up the faithful again by saying their opponent has written two memoirs but not a single bit of noteworthy legislation in the U.S. or State Senate.
9:53pm - Still going into very specific details about how McCain/Palin will attack energy crisis with numerous details. I wish I was smart enough to keep up.
9:51pm - She is going into very specific detail about oil and energy. Something Barack and co. avoided last week. She is full of specifics at this point in the speech.
9:50pm - Vetoed nearly half a billion dollars of waste from Alaska’s budget.
9:49pm - “As a chief executive I can assure you it (veto) works.”
9:47pm - “That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on Ebay!”
9:45pm - I have never seen a speech like this. The CBS News dude Bob Schieffer is rolling and he just got b**tch slapped by Palin. The crowd is in a frenzy. I don’t think anyone expected a performance this good from Palin.
9:44pm - Now she is going after the major media for excluding her or not being a part of the political powerhouse.
9:42pm - She is full of it…intelligence, humor….and now she is going to explain to Barack what the job of mayor involves: “A small town mayor is kind of like a community organizer but you have actual responsibilities.” THE CROWD GOES NUTS! Her claws are out and she is going hard after Barack for talking different to the populace to their face and behind their back in San Francisco about sticking to their guns and religion.
9:41pm - “The difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull is ……. lipstick.”
9:40pm - Democrat or Repubican: You are out of touch if Palin doesn’t inspire you in one way or another. She is in ways way too good at this. Maybe she is the ‘Manchurian Candidate’.
9:39pm - Palin gives a heart warming shout out to her husband Todd.
9:37pm - She gives shout outs to the entire family and baby Trig. And promises the parents of special needs kids they will have an advocate in the White House.
9:36pm - Standing ovation for Palin’s son Track, who is in attendance, and going off to Iraq next month.
9:35pm - Palin is very conservatively dressed and appears extremely calm.
Kind of man she wants as commander in chief leading her son (who is going to Iraq) into battle.
9:34pm - “There is a time for politics and a time for leadership.”
9:33pm - Good start for Palin. She basically calls out Obama and Biden as a small challenge compared to what McCain has been through in his past. She starts right into McCain being down and out last summer, sticking with the surge in Iraq, and his comeback to get the nomination.
9:32pm - And she begins by accepting the nomination for Vice President of the United States and the crowd erupts once again.
9:31pm - The ovation continues!
9:30pm - Still giving her a standing ovation. Surely this will die down in a bit.
9:29pm - And here she is……Mrs. America!
The conservatives are going nuts!
9:24pm - Good ole’ boy Rudy Giuliani is firing up the speech with a full on attack of Barack Obama. He is lambasting Palin’s experience over that of both Obama and Joe Biden. Hopefully he is about to wind down so we can get to the good stuff soon.
9:20pm CST - A lot of excitement and anticipation leading up to Palin’s speech, which is now just minutes away.
Sphere: Related ContentObama Radio Ads Hit McCain on Abortion

New radio ads from Barack Obama are appealing to women that John McCain will make abortion illegal if he is elected President of the United States.
Democrats had, until now, sought to appeal to women primarily on economic issues such as health care and workplace discrimination; abortion rights were hardly mentioned at the Democratic National Convention in Denver last week. But women’s rights groups have been urging Obama to attack McCain on the issue, pointing to polling showing that some women who support McCain think he supports abortion rights. In fact, the Arizona senator has long supported a ban on abortions, with exceptions for victims of rape and incest, and for pregnancies that threaten the life of the mother. Palin has an even firmer anti-abortion stance: She would require rape and incest victims to carry their pregnancies to term.
The Obama camp sure is afraid of the women’s vote all of a sudden. A smart political move to place the ads on the radio attacking McCain, but John will have a hard time single handedly banning abortion.

FRED THOMPSON: Thank you. Thank you. (Cheers, applause.) Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. (Cheers, applause continue.) Thank you. Thank you. (Cheers.)
We do so while taking a different view of our country than that of the other party. Listening to them, you’d think that we were in the middle of a Great Depression — (laughter) — that we’re down, disrespected, incapable of prevailing against challenges that face us. Now, we know that we have challenges. Always have, always will. But we also know that we live in the freest, strongest, most generous and prosperous nation in the history of the world and we’re thankful for that. (Cheers, applause.)
But it’s pretty clear the selection of Governor Palin has got the other side and their friends in the media in a state of panic — (laughter, shouting) — and no wonder. She’s a courageous, successful reformer who’s not afraid to take on the establishment. (Cheers, applause.)
Sound like anybody else we know?
AUDIENCE: Yes! (Cheers, applause.)
