The Governor and the Gold Medalist
According to the NY Post, New York Governor David Paterson wasn’t fully candid about his romantic trysts. While Paterson did state that both he and his wife had affairs, it was during a rough patch in their marriage. He went on to say that no abuse of his governmental powers were used, no government funds, no favors were handed out, and that nothing of the sort has happened in over a year. Paterson said all of this on the day of his inauguration, to prevent it from coming up and tarnishing his stint as Governor of New York, seeing as what happened with Governor Eliot Spitzer, who resigned from office last week. Now, Olympic gold medal winner Diane Dixon, said that she recently had a romantic affair with David Paterson, and that he help get her a job with the Department of Education in New York. Dixon, conveniently, also taped these conversations, which shows that she might have looked to hold this over Paterson’s head, to get something that she wanted.
Why can’t politicians keep their pants on?

Track-and-field athlete Diane Dixon, of Brooklyn, also told The Post that she had received a private message yesterday morning from Paterson, asking if she was speaking with the media.
New York Governor Paterson Admits Infidelity
On the day of his inauguration New York Governor David Paterson comes forth publicly about his past affairs. Paterson and his wife apparently went through a rough patch in their marriage and both of them had problems with their fidelity. Good to know they weren’t paying for sex like predecessor Eliot Spitzer.
The state’s new governor revealed Tuesday that he had affairs with several women, including a state employee. The confession came a day after he took over from former Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who was driven from office amid a prostitution scandal.
Gov. David Paterson said the affairs happened during a rough patch in his marriage, and that the employee did not work for him. He insisted he did not advance her career, and that no campaign or state money was spent on the affairs.
“I do not feel I have broken my commitment to the people of New York state,” Paterson said at a news conference with his wife, Michelle Paige Paterson.
