Keith Olberman Backs Ron Paul for President
In a surprising turn tonight on Countdown with Keith Olberman, Host Keith Olberman, said ” I am tired of being a company schill” and that the straw on the proverbial camel’s back was when he had to give a whole hour to the importance of the Barack Obama passport scandal without commercial breaks because that is apparently more important than any other new story in America. He went on to state that he was tired of promoting Sen. Barack Obama, in what he felt was a mass media move to force their will upon the people. He said that he unequivocally supported the Ron Paul and the “Ron Paul Revolution” and that now, he may go the way of Tucker Carlson, and only be allowed to comment on other people’s shows, then he signed off the air, maybe for the last time. This also makes one think with all of his liberal inclinations, were they really just for capitalistic gains. This may also hamper his contributions to the Daily Kos. Keith Olberman, a libertarian or closet Republican: who knew?

Obama Gains Minnesota Superdelegate
Fox News reported Sunday that Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar has given her endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama.
Sphere: Related ContentWASHINGTON — Barack Obama has gained another superdelegate. Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar endorsed her Illinois colleague Sunday night, saying in a statement that Obama “has inspired an enthusiasm and idealism that we have not seen in this country in a long time.”
It is the latest development among many that have been putting Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign on its heels. On Monday, Obama was poised to receive the endorsement of the seven Democrats on North Carolina’s congressional delegation, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Obama Gains Casey Endorsement
Senator Bob Casey Jr. has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama. Sen. Casey and Gov. Ed Rendell (a Clinton supporter) both have ties to the Governor of Puerto Rico Anibal Acevedo-Vila that was indicted Thursday. Acevedo-Vila was a Superdelegate that was for Obama, one has to wonder if Casey cast his lot for Obama now, to replace Acevedo- Vila Superdelegate that was or will be striped. Here is what MSNBC: First Read has on the Casey endorsement.

“You know, I did not press him on this endorsement, you know there were some people that I was nagging all the time,” Obama said of reaching out to Casey. “Bob I thought to myself, there’s great reason for me to press him; I told him I’d love to have his support, but I understood that you know we’re behind in the Pennsylvania polls. I just want to say it would have been easy for Bob just to stay out of it, just to stay neutral. I think everybody would have accepted that.
“But when he called me and said, ‘I think this is the right thing to do,’ it meant as much to me as any endorsement that I’ve received on the campaign trail,” Obama added.
Casey introduced Obama and spoke to the potential of his leadership.
“This campaign is a chance for America, a chance for America to chart a new course, to go down a different path,” Casey said of his endorsement. “A path, first of all, of change, a path of a new kind of politics, a path — and finally a path of hope and healing.”
Bill Richardson Finally Endorses Barack Obama
Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico is going to finally endorse Sen. Barack Obama. We here at Political Kudzu, said Richardson was going to endorse Obama after the Texas and Ohio Primaries, but then Obama lost the primaries of Texas and Ohio apparently that caused a wait. Maybe the ruckus that has been caused by Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Obama himself, prompted the endorsement. Bill Richardson is set to endorse Obama Friday around 12:30 PM. Richardson said that Obama was a once in a lifetime leader, guess that is suppose to urge people to vote for them because they will not get another chance to vote for a leader like him again, ever again in their life time.

Rep. Jack Murtha of Pennsylvania has thrown his support and his superdelegate vote behind Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Rep. Jack Murtha, D-Johnstown, became the first superdelegate to endorse Sen. Hillary Clinton since the Ohio and Texas primaries on March 4.In a statement released by his campaign committee, Murtha called Clinton “the candidate that will forge a consensus on health care, education, the economy, and the war in Iraq.”
Murtha said he has known Clinton for 15 years, adding, “I know that she continually reaches out for opinions and ideas not just from our nation’s leaders, but from all Americans.”
Murtha, a Democratic congressman since 1974, is a retired Marine Corps colonel and leading voice on defense issues. In recent years he has become a strong opponent of the war in Iraq and America’s ongoing presence there.
Murtha’s Clinton pledge gives her 14 pledged superdelegates in Pennsylvania. Barack Obama has four and nine are uncommitted.

Gov. Bill Richardson (NM) has been saying that whomever is behind in the delegate count on Wednesday should drop out of the race. Of course, Hillary Clinton (even if she wins big and is only behind a few delegates) is going to be behind. Now, it is being told that he is going to be endorsing Sen. Barack Obama. Chances are it will be Wednesday or Thursday morning when he does this, because Hillary will not drop out if she wins either Ohio or Texas, and she will probably at least one of those. So he will do it to rub salt in Hillary’s eye. Richardson does also have Vice-Presidential aspirations, and endorsements aren’t always free.

Sen. Chris Dodd To Endorse Barack Obama
Former Presidential Candidate Chris Dodd (CT) is expected to endorse Sen. Barack Obama (IL) on Tuesday in Cleveland, Ohio. Dodd dropped out of the Presidential race in January after the Iowa Caucus.
Dodd will endorse his colleague, a senator from Illinois, in Cleveland on Tuesday, according to a Democratic official close to Dodd who requested anonymity because no formal announcement had been made.
Dodd’s support, coupled with his liberal credentials, could provide a boost for Obama as major contests near in big states such as Ohio and Texas on March 4. Obama has won some key Democratic endorsements in recent weeks, including Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy, a close friend of Dodd.
Obama and rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton had been vying for Dodd’s support since he exited the presidential race after a poor showing in the Iowa caucus last month. Dodd, 63, who won his Senate seat in 1980 and chaired the Democratic National Committee from 1995-1996, has long-standing ties to the Clintons.

Sphere: Related ContentGeorgia Representative Faces Primary Challenge For Superdelegate Switch
In one of the more idiotic and pointless reasons for someone to run for a political office, Markel Hutchins is going to challenge Representative John Lewis for his house seat, because he might switch his choice for president that will receive his Superdelegate. John Lewis who was said to cast his lot for Hillary Clinton might change his mind, though he has no plans to do so, whatever that means. Hutchins believes that this isn’t a time to be wavering in your opinion. Now, it would be a different story if Hutchins said that he was running because he believes that Superdelegates are unconstitutional or something to that effect. Why is it pointless and idiotic you may ask yourself- this is why, it will not take away Lewis’ Superdelegate for this election. If he is defeated in the Primary, he still holds the office until January 2009 and effectively allows him to still have his Superdelegate, so it does nothing in the current election cycle of nominating the Presidential Nominee of the Democratic Party. to is said to be facing a Primary challenge because he might switch his Superdelegate.
Markel Hutchins, a 30-year-old minister, announced Wednesday that he would run for Lewis’ congressional seat in the Atlanta district. Hutchins said he had been considering a bid for several weeks but was ultimately swayed by Lewis’ recent equivocating over whether he supports Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barack Obama.
“Political experience can often times lead to political indebtedness, and I think such political indebtedness has caused Congressman Lewis in some real sense to separate himself from the winds of change that are blowing in his own congressional district,” Hutchins said.
Lewis, a civil rights leader who is close to the Clintons, announced in October that he was endorsing the former first lady. His was among the most coveted endorsements in the Democratic race.
Since then, he has come under increasing pressure as Obama has generated excitement among black voters. Lewis’ 5th District voted 3-to-1 for Obama in Georgia’s Feb. 5 primary. Nearly nine in 10 black voters statewide supported Obama.
Lewis’ spokeswoman has disputed recent media reports that Lewis said he would shift his support or was at least reconsidering. The spokeswoman, Brenda Jones, said last week that Lewis had not changed his endorsement. But that did not necessarily mean Lewis was planning to cast his superdelegate vote for the former first lady, she said.
“It’s too premature to make that decision,” she said.
Lewis, who turns 68 Thursday, has since ducked the matter, declining to take questions.
In response to Hutchins’ announcement, Lewis’ office issued a brief written statement Wednesday citing the congressman’s experience as a unifying leader.
Andra Gillespie, a political scientist at Emory University in Atlanta who specializes in black leadership, said Lewis is “trying to have it both ways.” Like many other older black politicians, she said, he probably made a strategic calculation that Clinton would win and is now caught between appearing fickle and ignoring the wishes of his constituents.
She predicted that Lewis and others would quickly abandon Clinton if she loses in the upcoming Texas and Ohio primaries.
The congressional primary is July 15.

The famous (or infamous) Teamsters union is will back Illinois Senator Barack Obama. The International Brotherhood Of Teamsters or as it is commonly called The Teamsters is 1.4 Million members strong. Teamsters is one of the most well known unions. This is definitely a big endorsement for Obama, considering that Clinton is trying to attract blue collar workers of unions. This could help Obama in a big way in The Ohio Primary.
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters plans to endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president, two Democratic sources tell CNN.
Obama is scheduled to meet with Teamster President James Hoffa in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday, according to a union source.
The union is expected to announce its endorsement soon after the meeting, the Associated Press reports.
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer will interview Hoffa about the union’s endorsement with at 5:30 p.m. ET.
The 1.4 million-member Teamsters union is the third labor organization to throw its support behind the senator from Illinois in less than a week.
The 1.9 million-member Service Employees International Union endorsed him Friday and the 1.3-million member United Food and Commercial Workers Union endorsed him on Thursday.
A union’s endorsement can give a candidate’s campaign a significant boost because union members often act as “ground troops” to canvass neighborhoods and work the phones.
Obama has been on a political roll since Super Tuesday two weeks ago. He has won 10 straight Democratic contests, including the Wisconsin primary and Hawaii caucuses on Tuesday.
The union endorsement could help Obama in his struggle against Sen. Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination, particularly among the lower-income voters Clinton is targeting.
Exit polls of Wisconsin voters suggested that Obama was winning over some blue collar voters, a group that had voted for Clinton in previous primaries and caucuses.
Among Wisconsin voters making between $15,000 and $30,000 a year, Obama edged out Clinton 52 percent to 46 percent. Obama had a 56 percent to 44 percent advantage over Clinton among voters making between $30,000 and $50,000.
